-Hello
Jett, I am flattered you accepted to be interviewed
for my website, I read your biography on your
cool official website www.GQPilot.com,
first of all you're a jet pilot and a certified
pilot instructor, what or who promoted you to pursue
those careers?
I grew up in the east of the
USA - Pittsburgh, PA - I was raised there and the son
of an airline Captain so I was born into the cockpit
(so to speak) So it was my father "Captain Dad"
as I always called him that introduced me into aviation
and I guess it was in my blood. It is a part of me and
I could never live without it.
I obtained all
my ratings and certificates by the time I was 21. I
am also SEA plane rated as well.
-How
do you feel when you drive an airplane? And what are
the most important characteristics and abilities that
a good pilot must possess? In other words, when you
consider someone fit to drive an airplane?
Pilots
are not made (for the most part) they are born. You
either have it or you don't. I have instructed many
students and in the first few lessons I know right away
if they are going to make it or not. Some are very book
smart but can't fly too well and you need to be a "natural"
-- I was. It is in your blood I believe. Aviation is
the best thing I have ever done in my life - I am just
so happy when I am up there, looking down on everything
and away from all the chaos and disaster that most people
have in their lives. There is so much shit that people
worry about and so much that doesn't matter in life
but as people why do we always worry about the things
that don't matter. Well up there in the blue sky, I
get to reflect alot and think. It is so beautiful and what a way to see the world. I have the best seat
in the sky next to God.

-You're a model
too, how did you get into modeling? Do you remember
your first photo shoot?
I got into modeling
on a vacation to south beach Miami. Gianni Versace discovered
me himself and that was it - I started at the top and
never left it no matter what area or phase of modeling
I went to --
My first photo shoot was with Cindy
Crawford! It was the best but I was very nervous because
she had to sit up on me during the shoot - I had no
shirt on and she was wearing very little - it was like
a dream and a nightmare all together! LOL I just didn't
want anything unexpected to "arise" during
our shoot! LOL
-You are both a fitness
model (you are on the covers of the several magazines)
and a fashion model, how did you manage to get success
in both fields of modeling? I think it's rare that fitness
models work for such great designers as Armani, Versace,
Calvin Klein, Valentino...
Yes it is VERY
unique that I was lucky enough to be able to do both
markets - I am basically the only male model in history
to do that and have done it at the highest levels --
I am not really better then anyone I just got lucky
being able to photograph editorial/high fashion and
also commercial/fitness - I am focusing more in the
fitness industry at the moment --
-I
read on your official website that you're attending
acting classes too, what are your acting goals and do
you think to have the determination needed to achieve
them?
I have been in classes for 7 years
- I go here I go there I go to many of them with many
teachers. The way I learn is that I can go so far with
a teacher and then I have to move on because I stop
learning -- it is strange and I am a bit different when
it comes to my learning curve versus all others - and
YES, I have the determination to achieve all of what
I want to do! LOL I can't believe you asked me that
one! UGH! LOL -- do you know how hard it is to be a
cover model and especially for the fitness magazines!
I have lived in many different cities and many different
countries and I have taken the worst beat downs in all
of them going after my dream. I lived in my car in Miami
and Los Angeles - I was robbed at gun point twice! Once
in Miami and then again in New York and I made about
every wrong choice a guy could make because no one would
really help me.
I didn't take help from my parents
who could have easily given it to me but instead I wanted
to do it all on my own. I thought that this was when
I did really come to a hard time in my path that I would
be so tuff it would be easy -- it hasn't been ever,
easy.

-I know you're a professional photographer
and that you have already submitted your works to great
magazines, when did you start taking pictures and what
made you become interested in it?
As for
the photographer part - I was always interested in taken
pictures, well I should say that I was always interested
in what the photographers were doing when they were
shooting me and so I would ask alot of questions -
sometimes, it pissed them off and they just gave me
an attitude like "shut up and just look good"
so I did BUT others would entertain my questions and
so I keep building interest so I learned from literally
the best in the business and that is what I incorporate
into my work -- a little from all of them.
-Tell
me something about your personality, how would you describe
yourself in a few words?
How would I describe
myself in a few words - "A bad ass mother fucker"
LOL LOL (I'm kidding) I'm an Aires and so the sarcasm
has to always be around somewhere! In a few words....mmmmm
our making me think here Edo. Well I guess my personality
I would say, adventurous, outgoing, (is that the same
thing) lol, also I'm funny and genuine. Yeah those are
descriptive. Alright - will that work.
-What
are some of your personal interests? What do you like
to do in your spare time if you have any?
I
like to surf in my spare time, I like to sometimes go
to the beach and play volleyball or I may shoot. you
know I am so damn unpredictable (even to myself) it
nuts. Sometimes I will clean, stay in and write or catch
up on laundry! UGH - that sucks!
-Thanks
Jett for taking your time to reply to my questions,
have a happy summer!
Thank you for the interest
and I am wishing you a great summer there! and when
I am in Italy again I will have to catch up!
